What questions do you have?

Does using Nuna add work for me or my staff?

No. Nuna doesn’t expect clinicians to monitor readings day to day. Patients use the app on their own between visits. When something needs your attention, Nuna prompts the patient to contact your office and bring a health summary to the appointment.

How does it really cost $0? Who pays?

The Nuna app and blood pressure cuff is free for you and your patients.

Who pays for it?

  • Traditional Medicare patients: CMS pays for Nuna through ACCESS, a federal program designed to help patients better manage their health. All patient co-pays are waived by Nuna. ACCESS provides funding for a 10-year period and you can learn more about the program here.
  • All other patients: Nuna currently covers the full cost so adoption is easy for your practice and your patients. We’re working with other payers, like Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans, to add funding.

Will patients be charged later?
No. Patients who enroll now will never be charged for the app.

How does Nuna make money? Does it sell patient data?
Nuna is paid for the care it provides through Medicare and health system partnerships. Nuna does not sell user data.

Will this give medical advice?

No. Nuna offers non-medical coaching and encouragement, not clinical guidance. It doesn’t diagnose.

Should I refer patients who are already enrolled in remote patient monitoring (RPM)?

We recommend keeping them in their RPM program. RPM is built around active care-team support, with clinical staff regularly reviewing readings and reaching out to patients. Nuna is designed for self-management: it equips patients to monitor their own blood pressure, build habits, and make day-to-day decisions, and it brings them back to you when they need your attention. Patients who need hands-on support are best served by RPM; patients ready to manage their condition independently between visits are a great fit for Nuna.

How do I refer a patient or get my practice started?

There’s nothing to set up. Just ask your patient to visit nuna.com/download or search for “Nuna” in the App Store or Google Play and download the app. They’ll be guided through getting started, including receiving their connected blood pressure cuff. We’re also building a simple referral page so you’ll soon be able to send referrals to us directly. Learn more.

Does Nuna integrate with my EHR?

Integration is optional. You can recommend Nuna to any patient without setup, and they’ll bring a summary of their blood pressure trends to their appointments. If you’d like Nuna in your workflow, we integrate with Epic, Oracle Health, and other major EHRs. With an integration, you can:

  • Refer patients with an order placed directly from your EHR
  • View Nuna in your workflow through a SMART on FHIR app
  • Receive patient vitals posted back to the patient’s chart
